The Somewhere Near Here blog was born in summer 2009, to follow me as I traveled in Europe for research, interning, and adventure. Since then, it has grown and developed into my personal chronicle of observations, commentary, and photography during my meanderings, both near and far.
After graduating from Princeton University, I moved to Vientiane, the capital of the Lao PDR (better known in America as Laos), to teach at Vientiane College, thanks to the help and support of the wonderful Princeton-in-Asia program.
